This form must be filed no later than 55 days preceding the PRIMARY in which the voter wishes to vote. A newly registered voter or a voter, who has never voted in a Primary Election, can affiliate with a party on the day of the primary.

A PARTY PRIOR TO ELECTION DAY?
Yes, if you are a registered voter who has never declared a party, you will complete a
Political Party Affiliation Declaration (Formulario de Declaración de Afiliación a Partidos Políticos) at your polling
place on the day of the Primary Election. This
declaration must be made before you will be permitted to vote in
that Primary. From Election Day on, you will be affiliated with that political party until you notify the Superintendent of Elections Office of a change at least 55 days prior to the Primary Election.
MAY I RETURN TO UNAFFILIATED AFTER DECLARING A PARTY?
IN A PRIMARY ELECTION CAN I CROSS PARTY LINES AND VOTE FOR A CANDIDATE FROM THE OTHER PARTY?
No, in the Primary, you can only vote the party in which you are affiliated. In order to change your party affiliation, you must file a written request with the Morris County Superintendent of Elections Office at least 55 days before the Primary Election. Once you change parties, you will be affiliated with the new party for the next Primary Election. The General Election is the only time you can cross party lines.
MAY I VOTE IN A PRIMARY ELECTION, IF I AM DECLARED
US CONSTITUTION, GREEN, LIBERTARIAN, NATURAL LAW, REFORM, OR CONSERVATIVE PARTY?
No, you CAN NOT vote in a Primary
Election. Only Republicans, Democrats and unaffiliated who declare on Election Day may vote in the Primary Election.
